The pox.... x two

The first birthday has come and gone. The main news of the past couple of weeks is that we've been hit with chicken pox. Libby had it a couple of weeks ago and breezed through it with no itching and very few pox. Alex showed signs of the pox on Sunday night and has definitely gotten the worse case. He's covered, but still doing pretty well. I had read on my twins club webpage that when twins get the pox, they don't get it at the same time and the first one gets a mild case, while the second gets a less mild case. So far, though, there's still no scratching, so haven't had to put socks on hands.

Other news: We attempted to weigh them ourselves when we were visiting Grandpa Frank, Auntie Sam and Uncle Paul. Alex seems to be somewhere around 25 lbs and Libby is somewhere around 22 lb, although the errors on this are pretty high - they're probably 23 and 24 lbs. Anyway - growing pretty well. We determined that Libby is about an inch taller than Alex, but Alex's chest is about an inch bigger than Libby's. It's interesting seeing the developmental differences between boys and girls when they are born at the same time.

Walking continues to go well (see movie at the end). Alex has really taken to it and is getting more and more balanced. Libby is taking it a bit slower and sometimes prefers to "walk" on her knees.

They have also discovered how to climb on things as the first series of pictures shows. In this, Alex discovered that he could push the little car next to the table and then use the car as stepstool to get up on the table. Libby followed suit, although she much prefers to just try to climb, without the car.
