Graduation
Yep - they've graduated..They're 3 years old (ok - will be 4 in two weeks), but they've graduated from nursery and are headed to big school.
I'm still not ok with this. They seem too little to me. They'll have only been 4 for 6 weeks when they start. Logically I understand that 'school' at this stage is just nursery - in the school they'll be going to, with trying to establish a bit more structure. But it still feels like they are too little.
To me...
L and A, on the other hand, are ready and raring to go to big school.

Pure serendipity to check in with this, the day you posted, after so many months of absence. Today we also went up to 'big school' to request a separate meeting with the reception class teacher since we'll both be away during the presentation event next week. We got a list of school uniform criteria and bought Marks and Spencer out of appropriate colour gym kit. Dressed up in it, Ronan looked way too small to be going up to the next level, and I had to keep reminding myself that whenever he's been around a mixed-age range of kids recently, he's chosen to play most with the big ones. He still looks like a baby to me, but clearly he feels big in himself, and is ready for something more challenging. He starts in September. Love to all, Russ. XXXX
